My Trip to the BHQ Custom Cues Workshop

My Trip to the BHQ Custom Cues Workshop

I came up and spent some time with Brent of BHQ custom cues, and picked up my custom pool cue. I am still here with Brent today.

I can tell you all that if you don't know Brent, you better get to know him.

His cues play better than my southwest and you might want to get on his waiting list now as in the future I can see his list growing as large as all the other top cue makers.

This all coming out of a small one man cue making shop in Ohio which is not well known as of yet, but THAT is soon to change.

The quality of his custom pool cues is as good as that of anyone out there, if not better. The playability of his cue is unbelievable. I finally found the hit I've been looking for 15 years. I am now an official BHQ fan.

This is my first of many cues to come from Brent and BHQ. If anyone has any questions or wants to hit with one of his cues in my area, (Canton, OH) just let me know and we can hookup. You can see the craftsmanship for yourself and you can see how great these cues play. The finish is great!

Thanks again Brent and I'm having a great time.

I will post more when I get home.

And by the way, even though Brent is old and half color-blind, he kicked my butt in races to 7, 9 ball, and one pocket. Now I need weight from EVERYONE!

I would love to visit the BHQ shop and learn a thing or two while I'm there.

I agree that his reputation is getting better all the time. I think if he keeps improving and continues with the excellent customer service, he will become a very sought after cue-maker.

I'm glad to own a couple of the earlier BHQ custom cues already.

    Glad you are having fun.

Darren, let me tell you what Nate Dog did to me last night. He tried to get me drunk! And it worked!

    But I still whooped him.

You should have lost. Next time he won't bother with the beer. I thought you were smarter than that Brent. LOL

You guys did the two things that I like best. No, make that three. You got drunk. You played pool. You looked at cues.

I can see that I'm going to have to make the drive from the Motor City to southern Ohio soon.

Yah I am already looking forward to my next visit. I don't think it will be to long from now.

Brent said he was blind but I sure don't think he is.

I'm glad you made it home safe and sound Nate.

Thanks Brent. The trip went very well.

I just wanted to let everyone know that Brent really is a good guy. He goes out of his way to make you feel important. You can just tell after spending a few minutes with him that he cares what you think and wants to help you in any way he can.

I spent a day and a half with him and it felt like we knew each other for years.

Well I tried to play pool.. Brent might be blind but he can definitely play. I could not hang with Brent drinking but I had a lot of fun trying. LOL.

@shark3149, You are right on the money.

I met Brent through another billiards forum, talked with him a few times, and he made the trip down to my shop in Indiana .

Like you said, great guy, and I have been chatting with him ever since. I too made the trip to Brent's shop and I had a blast and he was very Brent!

If all of you could, get a chance to chat with this guy, he's a hoot and is really coming along in the cue building world.

Someday I hope to be as good and productive as Mr. Hartman in cue making. He is truly an original and just one hell of a great guy.

You owe me for this sponsorship Buckeye, I want my 5 bucks now! HA.

    Thanks Jim!

"Very Brent" Ha, that's a good one.

    Hi Jim,

Maybe the next trip I make to see. Brent we can swing by your place.

I would like to meet you and see some of your cues as well.

"Brent was being Brent" I like that.

There is no other way to put it. I am not sure what that is at the bottom. I will have to ask and let every one know.

@shark3149 - We've got to pack a lunch for that long trip to Hoosierville.

I thought it was close. Well we might have to have Jim meet us half way or something.

  13. shark3149BHQ on 4/12/2007 7:59:15 PM

I was just kidding, he is only about 60 minutes from my house.

Thats not bad. You forgot to tell me how much I owe you for bothering you for a day and a half. LOL.
