What Brand of Pool Cue is This, or Who Manufactured It?
I bought this pool cue stick at least 30-35 years ago (1985-1990) when I was a regular league player. I had used it for years and then stopped playing for several years.
I just started playing pool in a league again and was having a local billiards supplier/repair guy look at the tip on this cue and on my breaking cue. He told me he thought this cue stick might be worth some good money, but he was unable to identify the manufacturer.
There are no obvious logos or markings. But, the marble work, the dot inlays (which could be mother of pearl) and the apparent lizard skin wrap seemed to intrigue him.
He has a very large book of pool cues and values, but he asked me to find out the manufacturer, as he does not have time to go page by page in his book.
Can anyone tell me who the manufacturer of this pool cue was?
Thanks, in advance for any help you can offer.

The manufacturer of your pool cue was the Adam Cue Co. of Japan.
The model is the Adam FG-5 cue, shown below as depicted in one of the early 1980s Adam Cue catalogs.
From the catalog, we know that it featured:
- French leather cue tip
- Special ferrule material
- Brass and stainless steel joint
- White rock Canadian Maple shaft
- Nylon, linen, or leather wrap (leather, in your case).
- Professional taper and balance
It's not worth a whole lot. For more on value, see the answer to this question on the value of an Adam FG-5 cue
Also see the answers on this previous question about and Adam FG-5 cue identity for more info and photos.
