Get In Gear is a billiards slang term that is a part of Skill Level Terminology.

To get in gear is to prepare to play billiards at one's highest level of play possible. Sometimes heard in the form high gear. The term get in gear is relative to the specific player's ability, and the ability of those in his or her sphere.
