Definition of Catcher

Catcher is a billiards slang term that is a part of Gambling and Betting Terminology.

A catcher is a participant in a collusion to rig a billiard game for financial gain. The catcher is the player who agrees to, and does, win the match. The catcher is may have to contribute any purse to the collusion winnings, of which all collusion participants divvy up after the match is complete. The catcher would be outlined in the gapper.
