Age and Value of a RICH-Q Pool Cue

Age and Value of a RICH-Q Pool Cue

Can anyone tell me the age value of this RICH-Q pool cue?

The only marking on this cue is the name RICH-Q.

In excellent condition you might get $100 for it.

In this condition, it is hard to say, and it might be hard to sell.

    Is it straight?

It has a slight warp, no tip, and it needs to be cleaned. I’m going to see how it feels this weekend.

Do you know a year this might have been made?

My coworker got 5 cues at a yard sale in New Mexico for $10.00. The others are just beginner cues which all need new tips, and there was a signed Steve Mizerak cue (no shaft). But this Rich-Q is what interested me. It's not in great shape but I got to try it out. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Based on design features and materials I believe it is a mid seventies model, but it isn't in my 1976 catalog.

I would love to see the Mizerak cue. Most were "cheap" cues, but the Steve Mizerak Pro Series were good.

    Thanks for the info @chopdoc.

This cue isn’t in great shape. The joint right below the inlay is real sloppy. I tried to glue it but it just won’t hold and it is warped pretty badly. The strangest thing is that the shaft smells like lighter fluid.

As for the Mizerak cue, I only have the base, no shaft, but it’s in nice shape. I’ll take a couple pics and post them.

Some people clean shafts with lighter fluid. It's Not what I prefer, but some do.

Trying to glue it will likely reduce the value actually. Generally, unless you know what you are doing, it's best to leave repairs to experienced cue repair guys.
