Pool Playing Tips Contest Finalists

About 1 month ago we emailed our member and user base and asked them for their best or most effective pool and billiard playing tips, tricks, or drills. We got a good response, and have narrowed the entries down to eight that seemed to be in a class of their own:

Take some Billiard Playing Lessons (By member choke2much) Drill for Perfecting Cue Ball Control and Shape (By Gerald Millione, Site Visitor) How to Put Spin on the Cue Ball (By Dan Werner, Site Visitor) Tips to Improve Your Billiard Stroke and Shot (By Doug Labout Sr. - forum member dlabout) Stance Tip for Performing Straight-On Shots (By Site Viewer brokania) Several Billiard Stroke Drills (By Member Terry Beer - forum user poolprof) Controlling the Speed of the Cue Ball and Object Balls (By Member Allan P Sand - forum member allanpsand) Mentally Preparing for Billiard Shot Making (By John Jaklich - Site Viewer)

Let us know which one you think is deserving of a placement on the front page of the site. The one with the most votes gets front page. (and the writer get fame and bragging rights, of course) Just reply to this post with the title of the one you like.

You can also let the authors know what you think of their tip by commenting at the bottom of each article.

If you don't think any of these are good, why not put your money where your mouth is and send me your best pool playing tip by using the contact form.

I'll vote for number one by choke2much. Some of the others are too long winded and the average pool player does not have the patience to wade through them. Some of the others seem to be taken from somewhere else. I thought the tips were suppose to be original. I seem to have seen the Rich Presely ones in one of Bob Byrnes books. Anyway, I"ll go with the old dictum that sometimmes "less is best". I give the same advice to people who want to learn to play golf.
