I think it would be better if you inserted a direct e-mail address for communication with your users and so that users can share ideas.

    Billiards Forum Response:

The contact page is the easiest, fastest, and most efficient way to get in touch.

I would leave more feedback except I cannot handle entering the captcha codes multiple times Aahhh! It is two now.

Please consider removing that "feature" from the site.

    Billiards Forum response:

    Hi Jim,

Thanks for the feedback. You are right, it was a burden to the most important users of the Billiards Forum - the members.

To fix this, we no longer present the captcha when a user has signed-in.

Thanks again for reaching out. Your contributions to the cue sports / Billiards Forum community are much appreciated.

Can you please move the posting/publishing date nearer the top of articles? It is a matter of usability. In conventional news sites, you would normally see the posting/publishing date near the post title so users can quickly verify how fresh the article they are about to read is. For example, the ongoing row between the BSCP and BMPAP may become stale eventually so it would be convenient for us (including you) if we are able to determine at a glance how old or how new an article is.

Thanks for bringing this forward and for having the follow up discussion with me about it.

We've got the post date at the top of most question and answer sections e.g. forum posts at this point. There are still a few sections where it is still at the bottom and it will likely stay there for now, especially with screen sizes getting smaller e.g. mobile, screen real-estate near the top of the page is at a premium.

    Thanks again for the feedback.

You have all these billiard business listings with only the street addresses in the main list, but not the city they are in.

So we have to go thru every link until we find the one that is close to where we live.

Why not put the cities with the address links?

    Billiards Forum response:

    Thanks for the feedback.

You are right. It was a poor design, and we've since change our cue sport business directory. It is now broken out by state/province and city, and the city name is included in the title and url.

This is a messy web site. There is too much on a page.

You should simplify ala Steve Jobs.

    Billiards Forum Response:

Thanks for the feedback. Much has been cleaned up since you wrote. We removed a lot of unnecessary functionality that was rarely used and have started re-organizing content (still a work in progress). The navigation and header area is also redesigned and cleaned up.

I would like to suggest having pdf for every rule. this would be so much easier to do.That would allow an on site rule book for players.

    I thank you.

    Billiards Forum Response:

Thanks for the suggestion; We've added it to the list. We'll likely add the feature sometime in the future when spare cycles allow.

In the meanwhile, you can always save any page on the Billiards Forum website as a PDF if you use google Chrome or Internet Explorer, and print it from there. Refer to the manuals for your web browser for information on how this can be done.

How do we send direct messages to other users?

    Billiards Forum Response:

    Thank you for the question.

See Can we Message Other Users on the Site? - but in short:

Currently there is no way to send a private message to another user of the site.

We did have the ability to send private messages in the past, but it was used very little, and was abused by spammers.

We're planning to implement this in the future, but because of the above noted issues, it is a low priority on the feature list.

Is there a reason why your web site uses text that is as close to white as possible?

Why not use text that is easy to read?

    Billiards Forum Response:

    Thank you for the question.

Do you recall which device/screen you were viewing the website on when all of the text looked "as close to white as possible" (as you put it)?

On this website, the primary font color's hex code is #555 and represents the color "Davy's Gray", which is described as a "slate grey". I would not classify that as "as close to white as possible".

In the range of "pure white" to "blackest black", #555 is about 70% toward the black end of that spectrum. For example, if we had 10 squares, each gradually increasing from white (square 1) to black (square 10), this color would be square 7.

Thanks again for the feedback. I have passed your feedback along to the UX team for consideration.
