Russian Pool Rules in "Know the Game"

Russian Pool Rules in "Know the Game"

In the book called "Know the Game", circa 1971, I read about and played Russian pool. At that time I was 11 or 12 years old and playing on a five foot table.

Pots, cannons, and in-offs were scored as in billiards or snooker but only for yellow/green in baulk bags, blue in middle, and black in top bags (you will know that they are the nearest to black spot). Pink is wild but only scores 6. Yellow 3, green 5, blue 7 and black 9.

I have had a 136 under these rules (but not a televised one ha ha!) but would like more clarification please!

I regularly play Russian pool in the Carlisle and at District Billiards, and also in snooker leagues, and I often use these rules to practice both games at the same time!

This question relates to the following billiard rules:

What exactly would you like more clarification on?

Also out of curiosity, I looked up the book you mentioned. The one I found is the 5th edition and is from 1968, and you can get it on amazon.com:
