Cue Modified by Herman Rambow

Cue Modified by Herman Rambow

I have a cue that was possibly modified by Herman Rambow.

In late 1966 or early 1967 a friend of mine suggested I get my cue modified to fit my height and hand size. He took it in for me and said Herman was doing the work. At the time I was young and dumb, but recently I took it out and found this website.

Putting the cue together after 64 years, it is still straight and true, with no warpage.

    How was it modified?

The pin looks longer than my Rambow cue and the buttplate is definitely not like mine.

I'm not saying he didn't modify it, I'm just curious what was done.

The front shaft and tip was made 3” longer and the coupling was changed. The butt stock is original except for the coupling and Irish linen on butt.

    I hope that answers it.

I lived in Chicago at the time until the late 1960s.

Pretty cool. Thanks for your reply.

I was born in Peoria and have a lot of family still in Chicago.

Herman changed the game in cue construction and playability. Yours probably plays great.
