2007 VNEA International Pool Championships in Las Vegas, NV

The VNEA is holding their 2007 27th Annual VNEA International Pool Tournament from May 24th to June 2nd, 2007, at the Riviera Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. The entry deadline is April 18th, 2007. Further details are below:

2007 27th Annual VNEA International Championship General Info:

  • General Tournament Information: All participants in International Competition:

  • must be deemed an active player by his/her Charter Holder.

  • must be able to show an up-to-date sanction card and pictured I.D. for positive identification and prize money disbursements.
  • are subject to random I.D. checks for eligibility purposes.

There will be absolutely no tournament entries accepted at Tournament Site. Exception: Mini-Tournaments. All Tables will be set at $1.00 per play and will use the new dollar coin. Players may be listed on more than one teams roster, for precautionary purposes. However, the first team that any player shoots for, in any division, is the only team that player is allowed to play for. * Tournament Dress Code: All participants in the 27th Annual International Championships must comply with the following dress code:

  • No Halter Tops
  • No Midriffs
  • No Cut-Offs
  • No Swimwear
  • No Tube Tops
  • No Tank Tops
  • No Improper Verbiage
  • All shorts must be clean, neat, presentable, hemmed and of proper length to be allowed
  • Rugged cut-offs will not be allowed

All players, during their scheduled matches, will present themselves in a neat and clean appearance. Tournament Officials will have the right to ask any player or spectator not properly attired to leave the playing area. * Age Requirement: All players must be of legal drinking age to play in the licensed establishment where the qualifying league is played and are at least 18 years of age. * Pool Cue Specifications:

  • Width of Tip: Not to exceed 15 mm.
  • Length of Cue: 40 inches min.

  • Airport Security: Due to heightened security measures: Please remind your players that all cuesticks must be checked as luggage at airport check-in. Also, hard cases would be recommended.

  • Certified Instructor Re-certification Class: This class is for those individuals who passed the Certified Instructor Seminar and would like to remain an active Certified Instructor and update their knowledge and skills.
  • Certified Instructor Seminar: This seminar was created to educate players on developing their own skills in order to use these teaching techniques to further promote the game of pool in their local area by instructing beginners and lesser skilled players as well as upper level shooters.
  • Certified Referee School: This school teaches players the proper way to conduct themselves as a referee at the local, regional and state levels. Many tested and true officiating techniques are shared with the members of this class.
  • 27th Annual Championship Team Spots: Each Charter Holder is allowed one International Championship Team Spot for every 8 sanctioned teams in that Charter Holders system. (If extra spots are available, they will be issued on a "1st Come, 1st Served" basis.)

  • Open 8-Ball Teams (Plus) - Sportsman

  • Women's 8-Ball Teams (Plus) - Sportswoman
  • Men's 8-Ball & 9-Ball Singles (Plus) - Sportsman
  • Women's 8-Ball & 9-Ball Singles (Plus) - Sportswoman
  • Men's Seniors 8-Ball & 9-Ball Singles
  • Women's Seniors 8-Ball & 9-Ball Singles
  • Open Super Seniors 8-Ball & 9-Ball Singles
  • Mini-Tournament Format: Scotch Doubles

  • Intermediate Divisions:

  • Open 8-Ball Teams

  • Women's 8-Ball Teams
  • Men's 8-Ball & 9-Ball Singles
  • Women's 8-Ball & 9-Ball Singles
  • Mini-Tournament Format: Scotch Doubles

  • Masters Divisions:

  • Open 8-Ball Teams

  • Women's 8-Ball Teams
  • Men's 8-Ball & 9-Ball Singles
  • Women's 8-Ball & 9-Ball Singles
  • Mini-Tournament Format: Scotch Doubles

  • Mini-Tournaments: Mini-Tournaments will consist of 8-Ball, 9-Ball & Scotch Doubles. Play times will be announced and posted as tables become available.

  • Scotch Doubles: All Scotch Doubles players must be sanctioned VNEA members . If one or more of the Scotch Doubles members is a Master player then they must participate in the Masters Division. If one or more of the Scotch Doubles members is an Intermediate player then they must participate in the Intermediate Division. The Scotch Doubles teams consist of one male and one female. Both members do not need to be from the same Charter Holder, therefore allowing members to participate with players from other Charters, states and countries.

  • Coaching will not be allowed in Scotch Doubles.

  • Entry Fees: Scotch Doubles ($50 per team)
  • All Scotch Doubles mini-tournament winners will advance to the finals to be held on Monday, May 28th, 2007.

About the VNEA: The Valley National 8-Ball League Association, Incorporated is a non-profit organization established to promote the game of pool on coin operated equipment. The membership is comprised of men, women and junior players, coin machine operators and manufacturers.
