Slate Issues with my Brunswick Gold Crown III Pool Table

Slate Issues with my Brunswick Gold Crown III Pool Table

Another update to my $500 Brunswick Gold Crown III restoration.

The paint arrived and I started painting the side skirts but this Rustoleum oil-based paint takes forever to dry.

So, I started leveling the slate and realized that the head slate is low in the center all the way across. I'm shimming it at the low spot right in the middle at the sides and finally getting it to bend flat, but what a HUGE pain in the ass. This is typical of Brunswick quality control on the slate and one reason why they've lost market share. The other two pieces of slate are fine but with an antique Brunswick pool table, there's always a slate issue.
