Refinishing Hippopotamus Furniture

Refinishing Hippopotamus Furniture

This is a long shot.

We purchased a Hippopotamus dining room table and a pair of buffets around 1990. They have held up well, but the finish is in serious need of attention.

It looks like it has an oiled finish, any suggestions on how to restore them?

It’s a Danish Oil finish. Try Watco, probably the dark walnut color.

You can lightly sand and apply a new coat. It will look like new.

    Good luck!
