Leveling a Pool Table Slate

Leveling a Pool Table Slate

Hey Guys I,m new to the site.

Quick question. I have gotten a 4x8 used 1inch slate table. I have leveled it very true. The problem that I am having is that after setting it up, if I try to run a ball, say, 2 inches off the rail all the way down to the corner pocket. It will continue to bounce off the rail all the way down. Is this a problem of the felt bunching or is the table just old and need some serious Spot shiming?

I will not be heart broken if it is a perminate problem because it was a hand me down. But I would like to try and solve this problem.

I know there are a million variables but what makes it odd is it does it on the other side as well almost as though the slate it self is convex surface. low on just the very edges of either side. as play is smooth and very true elsewhere on the table.

Thanks

What kind of flooring do you have underneath? If it's carpet the table can take a couple of days to settle, after instalation wait a few days then level it.

HAHA uneven cement under carpet. Thanks for the hint. I will let it settle it just seemed real odd to have a smooth center and it bounced off the rails like that. Thanks Kyle...I will wait and see.

Has the table leveled out for you over time?
