Exact Positions of the Red Spots on a Southern Bagatelle Table
I’m restoring a southern bagatelle table.
Are there any definite positions for the red spots?
Most of the information I can find is pretty vague.

Spot placements vary from table-to-table, so advice depends on which version of the table layout you have.
It would be extremely helpful to see some photos of your table.
A few questions for you:
- Is your Southern Bagatelle table one of those with the two side pockets?
- What size is your Bagatelle table? They generally will range from 6' X 1.5' at the small end, to 10' X 3' at the large end.
- Does yours have recessed cups, or simply flat surface-marked spots?
Unfortunately, there is no standard for size nor for spot/cup placement. Each brand will differ somewhat from others in their placements/measurements.
Everyone I consulted said that it is wise to pre-mark existing placement before beginning restoration - but I would assume since you're asking, that didn't happen - which is understandable.
On some tables, there will be some subtle indents or pin-holes in the slate/bed where the spots should be. Examine yours carefully for these.
Here's an image from a standard bagatelle table with some measurements which you could scale based on the size of your specific table. IMO, this is probably your most reliable way to get this done without having made any prior template before disassembly.
