Diamond Spot Marking Placement on Pool Table

Diamond Spot Marking Placement on Pool Table

I have just bought a 7 foot pool table and the spot markings for the table came separately.

I was wondering what the measurements are for where they should be positioned on the pool table.

    Hello,

There are no official specifications for this in any BCA or WPA documentation. You can, however, rely on some common sense assumptions for placement.

First, your short rail diamonds can be placed by first placing one in the exact center, measuring from the outer edges of the table. Then, one should be placed on each side, measuring the exact center from the outer edge of the table to the center diamond. That takes care of your short rails.

Next, your long rails will be similar. There are normally three diamonds between the side pocket and the corner. One diamond should be placed where the head spot is located. You can then deduce the spots for the other two, by measuring equal distances from that.

Hope this helps, and let us know if there are any questions.
