6 Foot 4 Globe Light for a 7 Foot Pool Table

6 Foot 4 Globe Light for a 7 Foot Pool Table

I have a 7 foot playing area on my pool table, and am wondering if a 6' light is too much for the size of table. It is a hanging pool table light with 4 globes.

Never "too much" light on the table. Just hang it so that it is about equal to the average person's nose, so that it won't blind the players!

Though you cannot have too much light, you can have incorrect lighting for your size table. The standard size for a 7' table is a three globe 40"-44" light hung at ~32" from the bed to the bottom of the shade. This creates the best lighting atmosphere. The larger light could create shadowing on the table surface which can throw of perception.

Thanks for the post, this is good info. What do you think are the best types of bulbs for a pool table light? There are tons of types out there?

Would it be possible to illuminate the pool table with LEDs? They give a nice bright shine and are focused enough not to blind the players.
