Year of this Antique 6x12 Brunswick Pool Table

Does anyone know the year of this Brunswick 6x12 pool table based on the pic? It does not have any name plates or markings. It is thought to be from 1895.

I am looking into this one for you.

One question though - how do you know it is a Brunswick pool table if there are no markings anywhere?

The guy selling it says it is and that there use to be a tag on it that said 1895. Weather or not that has to do with the year of manufacturing or a patent? And ithas new wood all around

Going to be near impossible to ID it from photos since the exterior has been completely re-finished (and possibly had some liberties taken which were not true to the original design). Those designs on the legs are quite unlike anything Brunswick Balke Collender had done, and are probably added when it was re-done.

Now, it is likely that only a pool table restoration specialist with en expertise in early Brunswick Balke Collender tables could identify it - and even this would require him to see the table in person and most likely would have to tear it apart. This is because the only way to ID it now would be to understand the features of construction - which can rule out some models, and narrow down the manufacture year, etc. by cross referencing Brunswick Balke Collender patent descriptions.

I understand that Brunswick Balke-Collender Co. pool tables had serial numbers. Here's what I know about them:

    • Pre 1900 the tables had five digit serial numbers embedded almost everywhere on the lower frame.
    • Tables from around 1900 and later had serial numbers that were six digits.

My Brunswick snooker table is numbered 19744.

When I get to the cottage I will crawl under the table to take photo of my serial number.

    I hope this helps!
