We Acquired a Rare Brunswick “cat’s Paw” Table. Has Anyone Seen Another One?

Hey everyone,

I’m with Ledford Billiard Supply in South Carolina, and last year we had the opportunity to pick up what we think is one of, if not the rarest billiard table currently on the market. The Antique Cat's Paw (Pre-Monarch) table by Brunswick.

We put together a video documenting the story, the pickup, and what we currently know about it, but I wanted to bring it here to see if anyone knows more about this rarity.

A few of the details we’re trying to better understand:

  • The table appears to be tied to the early Brunswick / Monarch era, but the exact placement in the timeline is still unclear.
  • The marking on the table reads “J M B & B Co.”
  • The cabinet has what appears to be hand-carved marquetry marked “0098.”
  • The leg design is noticeably different from the more commonly recognized Brunswick Monarch tables. While the Monarch tables featured the lions head, this table specifically features the paw, hence the name.
  • From what we’ve been able to gather, there were only ever a handful of these specific models ever produced. The official number is still unclear, and I haven't seen any official documentation (if it even exists) to specify this.

I’d genuinely love to hear from anyone who has seen one of these before, knows more about the Cat’s Paw history, or has insight into early Brunswick production/markings.

The table is currently valued at $150,000.

Has anyone here come across another table like this, or any old Brunswick documentation that might help place it more accurately?
