Need an Older Brunswick Pool Table Expert

Need an Older Brunswick Pool Table Expert

We just found this gem of a pool table and I’m trying to figure out roughly when it was made.

Do you know what years the lead inlaid letters were used on the short rail as a nameplate?

The patent tag is gone. Many parts have 359S written on them. I am assuming this is the end of the patent number. I have been searching the records with no luck.

Those two pieces of chalk came with the table along with many others. I live in Montana. The people we bought the pool table from, their family is from New Jersey. This pool table was purchased by them from a pool hall in New Jersey. The lady's grandmother bought the pool table, used, for her son when he was 17. He was born in 1932 making the purchase date some time around 1949. The family said with the words “just a rumor” that Minnesota Fats played on this table amongst many others.

I’ve only had this pool table for 3 days now, so my research is still in the stages of infancy. Does anyone know the history of the store on the chalk? I found little-to-no information online about it. If I could figure out which pool halls were close to this store I might be able to learn more of the history of this table.

I have been searching old catalogs and I have not found this tables dimensions yet. It is a 3 piece slate so I know it is from after 1900. It is a 3 piece slate and each slate is 1.5” thick and 38-5/8 x 60", making the total length 115-3/4 inches long by 5 ft wide.

It has number 3 irons which many have said it’s a snooker table. But the pockets are cut for regular 2.25” balls. There is evidence that it has been modified so perhaps it was a snooker table.

Any information you can provide is greatly appreciated.
