Identify Antique Pool Table with Intricate Star-Motif Inlays

Identify Antique Pool Table with Intricate Star-Motif Inlays

Any thoughts as to what model this antique pool table might be? It has intricate marquetry inlays on all sides, including the rails and legs. The inlays on the aprons feature a large star inlay in the centers of the inlay pattern.

I think it might be a Brunswick Balke-Collender pool table based on the name shown on the rack triangle, but not sure on the model.

I'm stumped on this one. Were you able to figure it out definitively?

I would estimate the date range to be somewhere between 1880 and 1910 give or take.

I've never seen any Brunswick Balke-Collender pool tables with that specific inlay pattern. It is very unique and distinctly different from the patterns commonly used in antique Brunswick Balke-Collender pool tables.

Based on that I would say that it is either a custom job, or not a Brunswick Balke-Collender pool table.

    A few questions:

    1. Can you share a clear and close-up photos of the following:
      • Underneath the pool table (frame, leg attachment, etc)
      • Better high-res and close-up photos of the various inlay pattern sections
      • The sights in the rails
      • The rail bolts on the side (and if you can remove one fully, take a photo of that)
    2. Do you know how thick the slate is, and how many pieces? (typically 1-piece or 3-piece)
    3. Do you have any other info on this pool table? Where is it located, any history you can share?
    4. Besides the "2 ½" triangle that reads "The Brunswick-Balke-Collender Co. Carrom and Pocket-Billiard Tables", does the pool table itself have any numbers, logos, marks, etc. on it or underneath it anywhere? Any patent numbers visible?
