Help Identifying This Gandy Pool Table

I am looking to buy this pool table.

It is a 9-foot Gandy pool table with 1.5" slate, and is about 35 years old.

I am wondering what kind of quality this model had.

    So 35 years old puts us at about 1982 roughly. That pre-dates any Gandy catalogs I have on hand and I don't recognize the design from the photos.

    Gandy's reputation was always quite good. Especially the commercial models (of which I think this one is not).

    Gandy was big in the 1960s (off the popularity of the blockbuster movie "The Hustler"). But the owners sold the company at some point in the 1970s, apparently after which, the quality slowly and steadily went downhill according to some.

    [...] But the family sold the company in the 1970's. "The people who bought it practically ran it into the ground," Costanzo said. "I was brought on-board in 1985 to help turn it around, to help build a nationwide network of dealers. My background is in money management; I was in international banking before I came to Gandy. I knew nothing about pool tables, but I like the challenge."

    So it seems the age of the pool table in your post puts it somewhere in the middle of the dark period for Gandy, but since we can't yet identify the model, this is all just speculation. The table looks good, and if the price is right... it might not be a bad home pool table.

    Not sure what the sale price is for this one, but if you can find a Commercial Gandy pool table e.g. a Gandy "Big G" for a comparable price, might be worth your while to check it out.
