Fischer 6, 73 101 PL 3 Pool Table Serial A36203

Fischer 6, 73 101 PL 3 Pool Table Serial A36203

I am trying to determine the year of manufacture of our Fisher pool table.

The stamp on the slate says:

FISCHER 6, 73 101 PL 3
3948 3818 3838 3618 3648
BALL SPOT THIS END

I can't tell if it is 1973 based on the number on the bottom.

The balls remain in the pockets and do not travel to end of table as in some models.

The serial number is A36203.

Can you help me determine the year and value of this Fischer pool table?

Thanks so much,
Amanda

I have no idea. I'm new to pool tables in the sense of buying then and knowing details about them and don't know much about values.

It looks like a Fischer Cavalier model pool table, and if it says "Questor" on the end, then its somewhere between 1968 and 1976, but that's all I can tell you.

I've read elsewhere that the serial number doesn't really mean anything. The last year that Fischer pool tables were manufactured was 1976, so it's really hard to find any info on them being that they are over 40 years old.

Most of the time people sell them for about $450, mostly because used tables have flooded the market and these are an older-style pool table.

Sorry I can't help you further! Good luck on trying to get the info!

So you are saying your Fischer pool table doesn't have a ball-return mechanism, meaning there is no ball-return tray on either end, and no ball tracks/tubes underneath, correct?

Would also like to see photos of any tags, logos, etc.

Also, that string hanging from one of the corners, in case you didn't know, would have had a chalk holder attached to it. It was there to keep a cube of cue chalk close without having to sit it on the rails.

1973 certainly sounds about right for that model, and the Fischer Cavalier is certainly the closest model to the one in your photos. One thing about the cavalier is that there were many iterations or versions. For example, you have Cavalier, Cavalier II, Cavalier III, and up to at least the Fischer Cavalier VII.

The interesting thing is that on all of the other Fischer Cavalier models I have in my archives (about 30 or so examples) yours is the only one I've seen with circular sights in the rails. Every other one has diamond shaped sights.

Here is another Fischer Cavalier pool table just like yours (except that it has diamond shaped sights) and it was for sale in late 2016 for $500.

Here is a catalog page for the Fischer Cavalier pool table (not sure which version):
