How to Play "Pass it Over" with Poker Pool Balls

In the billiard game "Pass It Over", the object is to score the highest poker hand possible by pocketing five balls or less, and passing one ball to an opponent in the process.

The game is played as follows:

  • Players can lag or toss a coin to determine their positions for Round One.
  • Player Number One racks and breaks the balls.
  • A player indicates (calls) the object ball and pocket before shooting.
  • Players can validate their hand at any time during their turn by passing one ball to a player who hasn’t received one.
  • Players that have a five-ball hand are exempt from receiving or passing a ball.
  • Scratched marked balls are spotted at the foot of the table. The Cue Ball is placed on or behind the head string. Any ball below the head string can be pocketed.
  • Players place their pocketed balls in the Score Case on the shelf that matches their position in the rotation, immediately after completing a turn.
  • Players discontinue shooting after pocketing a Five Ball hand.
  • A player taking the last turn of the game shoots until pocketing the winning hand or misses two shots.
