Johnny Counts

Johnny Counts

Johnny Counts qualified in 1981 to Las Vegas where 300 of the best pool players battled. Johnny lost his first match then won 6 straight matches including one against Machine Gun Lou Butera, a hall of fame inductee, before losing in the round of 16 to two-time champion Mike Sigel.

Johnny was in the top 3 tenn. players for over 20 years not sure of name but a pro player stopped at his pool room deciding not to tour as there were many sponsors wanting Johnny too. Johnny played this pro for $100 A RACK putting this pro down 20 games within 2 hours. This pro said I can't beat you. This pro went on to win the New Orleans Pro player tourney, and many others as well.

I rate Johnny Counts at 8.5, just under the top 10 or 15 players.

    Thanks for the great back-story.

I believe he owns Shooter's Sports Bar & Grill in Columbia, TN now.
