Heading to Kent, WA for 2007 Regional APA 9 Ball Singles

Heading to Kent, WA for 2007 Regional APA 9 Ball Singles

Okay so I just wanted to fill you all in on my good news!

I just got my packet in the mail today for 2007 9-ball Singles Competition Washington Regionals for the APA.

On March 3 & 4, 2007 at Carriage Square Sports Pub in Kent, WA, I will be taking a stab at 16 other shooters for my chance to go to Vegas in April for 9-ball Nationals singles event.

This will be the first time I've competed in Regionals for SINGLES competition so I'm pretty excited about it. I have in the past gone for team event and never really took interest in going for singles. But now I found it high time for me to kick it in gear and see what I can do on my own.

So wish me luck everyone!

Awesome. I wish you all the best. Just put in the time at the practice table before then and the go and kick some butt.

    Oh, wow. Good luck!

If you make it to Las Vegas then I'd have to come watch you shoot! Maybe if you did well I'd take you out to dinner. I'm gonna get in trouble for this, but whatever.

@A-Train - Nice try there buddy.

Tonight I will be out practicing. Not hustling, but practicing. I'M STOKED! The rate I'm going I'll do just fine. I've been shooting a lot lately and my shot is just ON!

    Thanks for the support everyone!

Here is the update on my performance in the 9-ball tournament.

I got a bye the first round which gave me my first win. My second match I played against a 4 and beat him 31-9 in 7 innings. My following match was an 1 hour 45 minutes later against a 5 and won 31-33. So I advanced further into the tourney and was definitely shooting very well.

But first and foremost before I continue I would like to send much love and thanks to those of you who showed up in Kent and supported me. If you were there you know what happened. But for those of you who weren't, here it goes.

I played my next match on the winners bracket 2 1/2 hours after the second day of Regionals started. I pretty much was just waiting on the outcome of the losers side of the bracket. I played against a weak 4 and won against him. Which made me have to wait yet again for another match from the losers bracket. But due to the fact that 8 & 9 ball was going on at the same time I sat and waited for another few hours before getting to shoot again. My opponent had a 8 ball match to shoot. Finally got my match and again played a 4 and beat him 31-15. So that match put me in the finals to wait for the final semifinal match between a 6 or a 5. I sat there and waited yet again for an hour just to get an opponent that was actually semi sharking not only myself but the score keeper at that. Oh well it will bite him in the ass later.

I ended up losing in the finals needing only 5 points and had to settle for runner up. Sad but true but the up side of the entire weekend I got MAD PROPS from all the shooters there but the guy I played in the finals about the strength of my stroke. I as usual shot an extremely awesome match or should I say matches in Regionals. I honestly can't believe my rating didn't get bumped up to the next level.

I do though think that Gene did a terrible job of running Regionals. And certain disputes about who dropped what ball when created chaos for some more than others. For some reason I think they favored my opponent in the finals match. And I say that not only because I got cheated out of 5 balls I know I dropped that he swears he dropped (all in the same rack), but I say it cause they tagged me with a HUGE warning about my attitude about the situation. Oh well shit happens and people will do anything to win and go to Nationals. I'd rather know I got there honestly without sharking or cheating my way there. But I guarantee that it won't happen like that again. Karma is a bitch.

On another note, I not only impressed myself but I definitely impressed the hell out of a lot of other shooters there (higher and lower rated). There was a big sense of worry and fear in some shooters in my tier. I don't blame them. If I saw someone shoot that strong of a game like me I'd be pretty intimidated myself.

So I guess it's back to step one. Hit more qualifiers and get back to the next Regionals. And at the same time there is always my shot with my 9-ball team event coming in June.

Again much love and respect and MANY THANKS to all of you who supported me this weekend. The comments, messages, emails, text messages and phone calls were greatly appreciated.

OH and just so you all know. I redeemed myself from losing in the finals by making it to my 9-ball league in time for a match. Ended up winning against a 6, so that boosted me up a little bit. LOL.
