Black Ferrule

Black Ferrule

I'm thinking of putting a black ferrule on my cue when I change the tip. It is purely an ascetic thing because the butt is black. Any comments on the pros and cons of black when it comes to aiming? I'm wondering if it would be a distraction.

Is your main reason for making the change so that it will match the color of the cue's butt? I was trying to research them a little, and it seems that most phenolic products are black; I wonder if that is what you were looking at? I know that I'm immensely affected whenever I change anything about my cue. When I change the cue tip, its a good two weeks before It feels even close to the same.

It's like I said, it is purely ascetic. Maybe I'll wrap a piece of black electrical tape around the ferrule just to see how it looks and to see if it affect aiming. Do you get the impression here that maybe I have too much time on my hands?

I tried the black tape and the black ferrule is out. It make my eye uncomfortable. It seemed like it was too big a spot on the CB. Oh well.
