Viking VX-2 Cue Info

Viking VX-2 Cue Info

Thank you for taking a look at this Viking cue. I realize it says “VX-2” right on it, but my searches didn’t lend much insight. I’ve seen the Viking V-series and Viking VM-series, etc. but I was unsuccessful in gathering more info about this one.

Clearly, I have no background knowledge in cues. I just know my dad loved to play and apparently liked the color purple more than I knew. That’s why I sought out this forum to ask people who know their stuff.

Judging by the slight green tinge- he played with this stick most often. Can you tell me when it was made? I’ll post the other photos now.

I am stumped on this one at the moment. That is a legit Viking sticker, but I too can't find any matching Viking cue model number in any of their series.

I have reached out to my contact at Viking to try to get some more info. They are usually pretty quick to get back e.g. 1-2 days. Stay tuned.

    P.S. this had me laughing.

You are awesome. Thank you so much for all of your help!

LOL. I saw the first purple one and thought, "Ooh. Pretty. Didn’t picture dad with his tats and scruffy beard carrying a purple cue stick."

Then I saw the second purple cue and was like, "Own that purple love, dad!" Makes me smile.

Here is the response from Viking Cues USA:

The cue was from a custom line created for CueStix. CueStix is a business to business wholesaler for the recreational products industry. Unfortunately, I don't have any accurate information on when or how long they were made or the number of cues manufactured. I do know that they were still be offered by some vendors in 2006 with an MSRP of $240.

The cue was manufactured in Hard Rock Maple with Concord stain. It had 2 sets of Purple Premium Pearl surrounded by White Premium Pearl Rings.

Wow, that's way more informative than I could have hoped for. You are beyond a valuable resource! I can’t thank you enough for your time and trouble. What a fantastic site you've got here. Thank you!

We live in the Denver/Metro area and CueStix is outside of Boulder, so it makes perfect sense that he would’ve ordered it from there around that time when he was playing most. Great info and thank you again!
