Players 609 Pool cue ID and Value

I am looking for identity and value of a Players pool cue with numbers "609" on the butt cap.

If google "Players 609" pool cue, I get results for the Players C9921 cue? LOL, maybe a knockoff?

Either way, any help would be great. I'm curious since I know nothing about Billiards.

Knockoff? Such cues aren't typically worth enough to knockoff. In fact, one could say the Players cue is itself a knockoff of Meucci designs.

They are inexpensive import cues. In perfect condition they are typically worth half of new, which would be something like $140.

Players makes a respectable "value priced" pool cue.

The numbers on the "back" of the Player's cue butt caps are not the Players model numbers, but rather, typically indicate the month and year of manufacture, e.g. when the production run occurred.

In your case, the "609" represents the 6th month of 2009 (...or is it 2006, 9th month?) Let me get back to you with an exact answer.

Your cue is indeed the Players C-9921 from the Players "Classic" Series. They have been out since at least Feb 2005, were still in the 2012 catalogs, and is still available online from retailers like Seyberts.

@Chopdoc is correct about the value.

    • In 2005, MSRP was $95 and it commonly sold at a retail of $76
    • In 2012, MSRP was $120 and it commonly sold at a retail of $97
    • In 2018, MSRP is $179 and it commonly sells at a retail price of $152
