Identify Old Cue with Carved Design?

I found this old pool cue with a carved design a few years back and have played many games with it. I was recently informed that I shouldn’t use it anymore and that it’s worth a lot maybe.

Do you have any ideas about what kind of pool cue it is and how much it might be worth?

It’s missing some inlays and needs the ferrule replaced but hits well and hasn’t let me down any.
