Identify Cue with 3/8" Pin and Pilot-less Shaft

Can anyone help identify this cue?

It has no brand or identification marks on it.

It has a 3/8 brass joint pin and the shaft is pilotless.

I was told it is either an old McDaniels cue or an original Southwest cue. Could this be true?
