Identify a Black, Red, and Silver Meucci

Identify a Black, Red, and Silver Meucci

I'm very much a novice, but am trying to find/identify the model of a Meucci pool cue my husband had about 10-15 years ago. He said it was black/red/silver with diamonds, etc., 19.25 oz. I would like to try and find one to surprise him on his birthday. I have done some research, but with the limited information, think perhaps its a 97-15 or SS-11?? Thanks for any help!

How sure are you that this design is the one your husband had?

If all he gave you was a description that it was red, black, and silver, and had diamonds, I am afraid you are taking a big chance...

There are a lot which could meet that description. Especially if the red portion was just a couple of veneers forming the points on the forearm e.g. the 95-17, or the Hi-Pro 1 (HP-1), or MX-4 for example. If that was the case, you would have 20-30 possible models.

Can you get a more precise time-frame when he got it, and do you know if he bought it new at that time (if no, then add about 20 more models to that list). Those two you mentioned are over 23 years old now, so if it was 10 years ago when he got his new, it probably isn't that (though similar designs have lived on through other models).

Would love to help you out on this one, but just isn't enough to go on.

All that said, you did pretty good to narrow it down to those two, given the sheer number of lines and models of Meucci cues are out there.

Thanks so much for your response. My husband is 37. I do know he had the pool cue around 2005-2006. I would assume the cue would have not been too old at the time he purchased it. Does this help at all??

I did find out that he purchased the pool cue new around 2005-2006. He said he paid a few hundred dollars for it...
