ID for a "Palmer Custom Cue"

This Palmer Custom Cue was given to me by a friend.

I'm having trouble identifying it as to how old it is and what it's worth might be.

I'm wondering if you can help me?

I am uploading a couple photos of it below.

Thanks very much

You've got a Palmer PM-10 pool cue from the Palmer PM line circa late 1970s and throughout the 1980s.

The retail price at the time was around $250 USD.

In this case, the "PM" stands for "Pete Margo" (Peter D. Margaritondo) - a World Champion and Hall of Fame billiard player).

The Palmer PM series of pool cues were production cues introduced in the late 1970's. These cues were manufactured by Adam, Japan, to the designs and specifications of Palmer. These cues are of the highest production quality available at the time. The PM-Line was an entry level quality production cue with an emphasis on value. These cues were very popular. The majority of the PM Line cues were sold during the 1980's.

The Palmer PM-10 cue was described as follows in the catalog:

    Palmer PM-10

This elegant model offers a solid Brazilian rosewood butt inlaid with a tasteful pattern of genuine mother-of-pearl as well as wood inlays at the joint and in the bottom section. It is wrapped in brown speck Irish linen that is pressed and polished, and it is fitted with a traditional stainless steel joint and a Canadian maple pro tapered shaft with Palmer’s own ivorette ferrule. A cue sure to please!”
