Counterfeit Triangle Chalk From eBay

Counterfeit Triangle Chalk From eBay

A few weeks ago I saw, on London Masters, that lots of players are using Triangle chalk, so I order 10 pcs on Ebay

ebay.com/itm/10-pcs-Triangle-Chalk-for-Snooker-Pool-Billiards-/110415912705?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19b54d1f01

I tried to play with that chalk, but it's crumbling when I try to put it on my cue, like you put a sand on cue. Is it possible that it is not original chalk, 'cause it's coming from Hong Kong? Or can I buy better Triangle chalk in some other recommended store? (Which?)

Usually I use Diamond Blue, Masters or Kamui 1,21 chalk, but this one is much worst than any of them, that's why I'm thinking it's fake.

Thanks, Emil

I used Master chalk for years but it then seemed, in the late 1990's, to become quite powdery requiring use after every shot and a lot of attention when applying it.

I switched to Triangle which is not powdery. Of course I last purchased 3 gross in 2007 so I have still one gross unopened, and can be used only every two strokes unless a massé is executed. This chalk is my personal stuff .... not handed out.

I have had conversations with the folks at Tweeten Fiber makers and they assure me both chalks are made to the same specifications to which I say, HORSEFEATHERS... the chalks I have seen are different.

So... I suspect you have gotten a knock-off product... but then even "real" Master chalk may be made to less than spec in the Orient. Who knows.

Whoever you got the chalk from - may have stored it in a damp location?

The delivery man may have had the box on the loading dock in a blizzard?

Your cat may have missed the litter box?

I seriously doubt the chalk was made with an inferior formula or defective ingredients. But then, what do I know?

Just my opinion but a LOT of what is sold on eBay are cheap knock-off versions of the real thing. There is a reason this stuff is so dirt cheap.
