Hello From New Member

Hello,

I am pleased to have found this forum. I haven’t played for a long time but I played a lot of Billiards at college (back in the Dark Ages): informal two-man games after dinner or on rainy afternoons when other sports were rained out.

I look forward to learning more from this site and maybe taking up the sport again.

Best wishes,
James

    Welcome to the community!

Glad to hear that there are some folks out there rediscovering cue sports.

Thank you for that! It's good of you to welcome me in this way.

    Welcome.

We need to grow these forums.

If you are just getting back into the game, buy Robert Byrne's book, The Standard Book of Pool & Billiards (https://amzn.to/2sjOyHH). It is THE BEST BOOK on pool ever written. In the 1980s I snail-mailed Robert some of my "trick shots" and he wrote me back. Unfortunately, Robert Byrne died. He was a great guy and knew how to teach pool and 3-cushion billiards too.

@BallBuster - Thanks for the friendly welcome. I am certainly going to take your advice on the Robert Byrne book.

May I ask where you’re based and how long you’ve been playing pool?
