Reviewing the most recent Snooker tournament, the final was a classic which featured Judd Trump narrowly losing 10 frames to 9 to Australian Neil Robertson. In what was a titanic battle, Trump was ahead, then it swung back into Robertson’s favor until a final frame decider was in play. Neil Robertson is another talent who could win back to back titles as ranked number 3 in the world.

This season so far Robertson has been playing good Snooker and as well as winning the UK Championship he was runner up in the English Open. This gave O’Sullivan his 6th World Snooker Championship at the age of 45, and he shows no sign of stopping. Winning 37 ranking tournaments in his career, O’Sullivan is always dangerous on the circuit and still has the motivation to in events, as he has shown this year.

Ahead of the Scottish Open Snooker, Ronnie O’Sullivan is the 2nd favorite at 5/1 (6.0) + 500 and currently ranked number 2 in the world, it would not surprise anyone if O’Sullivan won this event and continued his success into 2021 and regained the number one ranking from Trump.

The rivalry between Trump and O’Sullivan is healthy and one of respect as these are two outstanding Snooker players. O’Sullivan has often mentioned there should be more characters in the game and although Trump is a calm and considered individual, he one of the strong ambassadors of the Sport.

The Scottish Open Snooker will end a crazy year of events, and one where the tournament organizers can be proud to be able to put on the majority of the Tour events, starting with the World Snooker Championships, which were meant to be played in April, but ended up being moved to July / August of this year.

It is testament to the Organizers and the players, that the professionalism has been superb throughout making for entertaining events and this Scottish Open Snooker should be no different.

As well as Trump, O’Sullivan and Robertson who top the market, one player who can never be underestimated in Mark Selby. Although not playing his best Snooker, when it clicks for him, he can be devastating and confidence can return in a blink of an eye.

The latest odds on Mark Selby winning the Scottish Open Snooker is 7/1 (8.0) +700 and with a bit of luck along the way, he can win another ranking event. Selby won the European Masters this year and reached the semi-final in the English Open and quarter final in last week’s UK Championship.
