Does anyone know what a gear shot is? I have heard the term around, but can't find any more details on it.

   Just curious... It seems that no one has answered your question about what a Gear Shot is.

   I wish I could tell you but I'm new to the forum and was just interested in the answer.

   I love shooting pool, been doing so since I was very young but haven't yet heard this term. Anyone?

   I've done a simple search on the term "gear shot" but just the same as you, I did not find any information accordingly. However, I have heard the term "spin stroke" which, was defined by a quite cocky and proud kid who thought he was the best thing to happen to pool since it's creation, as a different stroke to help induce spin. Basically, he would swing his arm out and twist his wrist to help increase the spin on his shot.

   If this term is meant as I think, it is a majorly flawed thought process, and I would not recommend investigating any further into it as it would cause more harm than good for your game.
