Brief History of SkyWave Darts & Billiards

The name Skywave goes back to the 1980 era. Skywave started in Rockford, Illinois as a sole proprietorship in the small electronics industry. In April of 1994 Skywave filed for it's first corporation status. During the first four years, Skywave launched a manufacturing division in FM commercial radio station transmitters, VHF, UHF and Amateur radio antenna manufacturing, along with building and constructing repeater tower sites and maintaining the small electronics retail division. In 2002 Skywave started a new division into truck plaza small electronic stores. In this same year Skywave opened it's first Dart & Billiard store in Rockford, IL. In the store's first year Skywave poured money into the division to gain national distributor status with Dart World, Harrows, Horizon, Laser, GLD, Metroline, and others to establish the future goal of a wholesale division and online retail and wholesale. Shortly after that Skywave's President Daniel Larson took the company through it's first corporate shakedown that ended in the firing of his senior VP, other management and staff, and trading off a truck plaza division for his family to regain 100% stock control of the entire corporation and all it's divisions and companies. Daniel then took the entire company and moved all efforts but manufacturing into the gaming industry.

Skywave Darts & Billiards 2003 - Present Day

Daniel was a pool player, played in leagues, and slowly took interest in the game of darts. With not much available spare time he started shooting in dart leagues under another local operator. He further took a great interest in the amusements machinery and league business. One day a friend of Daniel's walked through the door and started talking about starting an amusement company with a friend of his. A meeting was set between Skywave's President Daniel Larson and Chris Stutsman. After several meetings it was a done deal. The companies were to remain separate and function as a twin company operation with the new amusement company named Brass Ring Amusements, Inc. under the helm of Chris Stutsman as President. Daniel remains President of Skywave and holds an executive position with Brass Ring Amusements, Inc. Skywave operates the entire dart league structure for and under Brass Ring Amusements, Inc. In our first two years of operating leagues under the N.D.A. (National Dart Association) sanctioning body, we have won a national award by N.D.A. both years, 2004-2005 "Rising Star Award" for most sanctioned players in a first league year, and 2006-2007 "League Coordinator Of The Year". These awards are based on all N.D.A. sanctioned amusement operators throughout the entire United States. Skywave and Brass Ring Amusements owe it all to our dedicated staff and to Arachnid. Brass Ring Amusements has approx. 176 Galaxy 2 dartboards in the field and according to Daniel, without Arachnid, Sam Zammuto, and Ken Reed, we would have never accomplished this goal.

Second quarter of 2006 Skywave's President met up with a gentleman named Joe Sturtz, President of DartSmarts. DartSmarts is a newer company to the dart industry with a very harsh approach into the industry. Skywave's President was astonished at the boasts and attacks of the company's GEN dart line and it's President's anal persistence to pick apart darts from A to Z in imperfections. Skywave's President immediately got on the phone and started talking to Joe about what makes his dart so superior in the dart industry. After many conversations with Joe, Daniel decided to take a major part in DartSmarts by putting up a large sum of money for inventory and to help put DartSmarts into full manufacturing production. Joe has spent years perfecting one single dart and it was worth the wait as this dart will change the industry on the players behalf and Joe will not stop here. Further darts are in the works and they are working hard to perfect every aspect of manufacturing. Skywave is now a Distribution point for the United States for public and dealer sales.

Skywave's Future

Skywave's Daniel Larson states "Skywave has planted both feet in the gaming industry and will faze all divisions not geared toward the gaming industry. Skywave will move forward from 2006 with the goal of 5 divisions, league operations, dart & billiard commercial storefronts, retail and wholesale distribution, manufacturing, and gaming establishments".
