Oscar's Billiard Club South Bend - Pool Hall Info

Oscar's Billiard Club was voted the "4th Best New Pool Room in America" in 2004, and prides itself on great equipment. We have three 7', three 9', and five 8' tables, all with championship cloth, Artemis rails, reel scorers, all in a classic Victorian style. Located within a few minutes walk from Notre Dame Stadium, it is the ideal place to gather before, during, and after all Notre Dame events. The full bar is open 7 days a week providing great drink specials. Oscar's has hosted the South Bend Chamber of Commerce, the Bass Club, National Diabetes Foundation, the 9-11 Firefighters, and many birthday, retirement, and surprise parties for any occasion. Oscar's has both inhouse and APA leagues weekly with great competition and greater payouts.

Oscar's Billiard Club - History

Oscar's Billiard Club was opened in January 1997 but was conceived many years before. The owner, a former trucking company owner, has traveled the United States and been in many of the great rooms in the country...Hawaiian Brians (Honolulu), Amsterdam (NYC), Boston Billiard Club, Chalkers (San Francisco), Hard Times (LA), and many others. All items in the room were carefully selected: tables, chairs, lights, cloth, cues, software, and much more. The concept evolved into one of the finest rooms in the Midwest that has been enjoyed by vistors from every state in the union.

Oscar's Billiard Club - The Legend

Oscar's was named after the founder's grandfather; the man who raised him. Oscar's pool playing partner was a guy that played a little football for a school north of town. Oscar's father owned a combination poolroom and livery stable. That made him one of the best in town. His skill teamed him up with another very good player. The football player was George Gipp. In fact, the only time Alma ever cursed was when she would say "That damn Gipp". I heard they made a lot of money and...had a lot of fun.
