Definition of Sweating The Action

Sweating The Action is a billiards slang term that is a part of Gambling and Betting Terminology.

Sweating the action is a term that refers to a gambler with a lot of money at stake who is nervous about losing and is hanging off of every play. That gambler is probably sweating with fear of a loss, and so he or she is said to be sweating the action. Sweating the action could also refer to the general gambling of the crowd on the billiard action at a tournament or other venue.

Sweating The Action - Usage

If you are going to back any of these guys you are going to need to stay calm. I don't want to be hanging out with you watching the tournament if you are going to be sweating the action all night. The girls were sweating the action all over the room.
