Out - Billiard Term Definition

Definition of Out

Out is a billiards slang term that is a part of Scoring Terminology.

In cue sports, the term out has a few different contexts for usage. In it's simplest form, the term out may refer to the act of running out. In a handicap context, the term out, when preceded by a number of balls refers to the specific number of balls for the spot from that number to the 9 ball. For example, the 5 out allows the player receiving weight to pocket the 5 ball, 6 ball, 7 ball, 8 ball, and the 9 ball to win.
