Definition of House Rules

House Rules is a billiards term that is a part of Game Rule Terminology.

Many pool halls or bars have their own twists on the official standard rules to a particular billiard game. It is the responsibility of the player to find out what the house rules might be before they start to play. The standard convention is that when you play in someone else's pool room, you are playing by their rules.
