Here is a random shot from a pub billiard room. You can see the arcade game in the background, and the shiny bright ale signage hanging all over the place. I wonder if the presence of billiard tables in pubs and bars and ale houses dilute the market and makes things harder for legitimate billiard halls? For that premise to be true, one has to assume that if the bars, pubs, and ale houses removed their pool tables, that the patrons would go to the pool hall instead. This I highly doubt. I believe that most who play billiards in bars and the like are there purely for drinking and eating, and the billiards is just something to do.
