Here is a shot from the 1970s of a home billiard table in a game room. The kid is playing with a short children's pool cue. The other thing I notice about this pool table that you typically don't see today is the wood rail that goes all the way around the corners. The pocket is actually a semi-circle cut directly out of the rail.
