Ultimate Poolplayer Magazine Bites the Dust

Ultimate Poolplayer Magazine Bites the Dust

It seems like yesterday that I was posting about the APN (American Pool Network) biting the bullet and disappearing off the face of the internet and the cue sport scene.

Well, I've found another. (albeit a little late) "The Ultimate Pool Player Magazine" which was a monthly cue sport zine in publication since 2004 is no longer in circulation. Here is the explanation of the publisher:

As of January 2, 2007. I have decided to close the The Ultimate Poolplayer Magazine. Sorry for those who liked reading and supported my website, but there is not enough dollars to keep this going. I offered a pretty fair and inexpensive place to advertise, and nobody cared. So why should I. I'd rather spend my time on my graphics business where I can actually make money. good bye to all, and play well!

I'll have to admit - I feel for her. The billiard business, online at least, is a dog when it comes to making money. Good thing I don't do this forum "for the money".

You know, I worked really hard putting the magazine together, by my self. I collected all the info.

At the time, my husband passed away suddenly and I couldn't make a living at the magazine, so I had no choice but to sell it. The guy who bought my domain still hasn't done anything with it. He just bought the name for the hell of it.

Maybe its your job to be critical, but it is also your job to collect the right info so you can be accurate.

Thanks for posting some back-story about the closure of the Ultimate Pool Player Magazine.

I had no intent to be critical of the publishers. In fact, you did what many business owners in the cue sports industry fail to do - which was to recognize that the business wasn't viable in the way you needed it to be, and shut it down.
