Looking for a Set of Playing Card Pool Balls

Looking for a Set of Playing Card Pool Balls

During the 1990's, a vending machine company gave me a set of pool balls that were by each suite in a deck of playing cards; 10, jack, queen, king and ace. They came with the spades, hearts, diamonds and clubs. It also came with an electrical poker pool scoreboard.

You racked the balls and then you would break the rack, using a safe break. The next player would shoot a ball into a pocket, then that ball would be recorded on an electrical scoring board. Each player would then shoot in turn trying to get the best hand possible, the electrical board would show when a player has reached the best hand to win and the board would then start to blink, indicating that the game was then over.

It was a lot of fun, of course the best players had the best chance to win, we would always handicap the game when there were really good players vs. just OK players.

My question is, do you have anything like that or know of where I might buy a set?

I was able to only get one of these special balls - the ace of hearts, it is red and has the "A" in the middle of the ball.

All the other balls were also marked by the suite and color, spade was black, clubs were sort of black, hearts were red and diamonds were gold/yellow.

I would be very interested in buying a set with the electrical board and introduce it to my fellow pool players who play tournaments and leagues.

Did you manage to find any information on these?

I have a set of billiard balls with playing cards too, but could not find anything out about them.

The set you are seeking were made by Aramith for a company in Delta, British Columbia called Card Ball International.

There were two versions cast: Cardball v1 from 1987 were only featured the two standard card suit colours of red and black. Cardball v2 came later in 1989 and were red, black, pink and grey and sported extra card denominations on the ball edges.

Both sets are highly desirable to ball collectors, particularly the earlier v1 which is now valued well into four figures.

I have both of these sets and would like to share a few photographs. These are copies of the information cards displayed with the Cardball v1 and v2 in collection.
