Identify Antique Carom Billiard Ball Set from an Indiana Company

Identify Antique Carom Billiard Ball Set from an Indiana Company

Can you provide any help in identifying the age and manufacturer of this billiard ball set?

The label indicates the company was/is located in Madison, IN.

I inherited this pool ball set which is quite old, and don't know what to do with it.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

The billiard ball set is from the Combination Billiard Manufacturing Co. of Indiana (Madison and Indianapolis as the box indicates). Also known as the Combination Billiard Mfg, Co..

If that is the entire set, they are probably for a 3-Cushion game that doesn't involve table pockets.

Each shooter has to hit the cue ball into one of the reds, then have the cue ball bound around and touch three cushions around a pocketless billiard table before hitting the other red ball, or something like that.

It would be interesting to find out if they are made of ivory.

Thank you both for your replies and for identifying the manufacturer and the way the game may have been played.

I, too, believe the balls are ivory and likely 100 or more years old.
