1997 Aramith Pro Balls with Different 9 Ball

1997 Aramith Pro Balls with Different 9 Ball

I recently purchased a set of super Aramith pro balls at an estate sale. The box is dated 1997. After cleaning the balls, I noticed that the nine ball is striped differently from the other striped balls. Also, the cue ball does not have any red dots on it. I am concerned if this set is authentic. Do you have any opinion?

Upload a photo so we can see what you mean by "striped differently". Also if the Aramith box has a model number, UPC, etc. or anything else that might help us in identification of the exact set, please include it.

Thank you for your quick response to my concerns regarding the different striped 9 ball. If at all possible, I would really appreciate a telephone call to discuss this concern. Please call (320) 290-9677 at your convenience.

The box is dated 1997 and marked as Super Aramith Pro.

That's interesting. Almost looks like the 9 ball is a replacement e.g. the original one was lost or damaged, which is very possible. People look for replacement balls all the time.

I looked at some older Aramith sets and the 9 ball matches the rest. The striped balls all either have the number on the white part, or all have the number on the striped part, but none I looked at were mismatched like that.

The Aramith Standard Pool Ball sets (non-super pro) all have the numbers on the white parts of the striped group of balls. The "standard" sets come in the white Aramith Boxes.

The Aramith Super Pro Pool Ball set all have the numbers within the stripe (colored stripe) of the striped ball group. The "Super Pro" sets come in the Navy Blue/Purple boxes.

Short of this, I can't really help you any further, other than to suggest calling Aramith if you are sure the balls in the box are the original ones that came in it.
