Foul to Jump Object Ball Off of the Table in 9 Ball?

Is this a foul?

In a game of 9-ball pool, my opponent jumped an object ball off the table.

In 9 ball, is it a foul to cause an object ball to leave the table?

This question relates to the following billiard rules:

    Mtribute,

Regarding your question about jumping the cue ball off the table in 9 ball, you will find your answer in the general rules of pocket billiards.

If playing BCA rules, you fall back on the general rules when something isn't specified in the particular game's rules. In the general rules it states:

"In all pocket billiard games, when a stroke results in the cue ball or any object ball being a jumped ball off the table, the stroke is a foul."

Then, per 9 Ball rules for all fouls; "The incoming player is granted ball in hand meaning that prior to their first shot they may place the cue ball anywhere on the table."
