   Just a warning from my own experience—Scotch Doubles played with a male/female team will kill your relationship with the opposite sex.

   My husband and I have been playing pool together now for 4 years, and we still love playing Scotch Doubles.

   In fact, Scotch Doubles matches are how we met, and we still love it

   We are playing in a Scotch Doubles tourney tonight as a matter of fact!

   I have seen a few couples get in some pretty good arguments while playing Scotch Doubles 8 ball.

   Usually it's the guy who is mad because the gal misses the shot or doesn't leave him shape for his next inning. I have seen a few teams where the lady is the better player and these ladies can get mean too when the guy makes these same mistakes.

   There are a few exceptions to this (e.g. @Kenda and her husband), but the larger majority tend to argue as far as I have seen.
