Pool Table Size
Hello all...I'm new here and have a silly question. I have a Gandy Big G table and need to find out it's size (it is apart and I need to determine the proper dimensions of the table to provide the proper support in the flooring....putting it in a room above a garage. I know they have an 8' and an oversize 8'. Can anyone determine the correct size by going off of the distance between the sights...mine are 11.5" apart on center (center of sight to center of site)?

1268,
Mitch Alsup is a pretty smart guy and maybe he can help you out. I'll send him a pm and ask him to look at your question.

Thanks! I've been told it's an 8 and also an oversize 8....leaning towards oversize 8.

The standard 8-foot table has a spacing between the end rails of 84 inches The oversized 8 foot tble has a spacing between the end rails of 86 inches The Diamond 8 foot tables are 85 inches
So, take a tape measure and measure the distance between the end rails and the answer will be apparent.
Unfortunately the diamond spacings are not strict enough (manufacture to manufacture) to determine from your given measurement which table size you have.

Well, my memory is screwed up.
I measured my Dad's table and it comes out to a playing surface of 46*92 nose to nose on the rails and 50*96 at the back side of the rails. I am pretty sure this 1950's Saunter-Wilhelm table is a std 8 foot-er. The diamonds (circles) measure 10+3/4.
Sorry for the above (previous post) data.

That's my issue....my table is disassembled. I have had confirmation today that mine is an oversized 8 from Gandy guy so to say. Thanks for all the help. I'm building my rec room and will post some pics.
